It really wasn’t a “What a Birthday!” in an overly exciting way:  my daughter’s first Last Day of School took priority.  We had birthday/last day of school ice cream, went to the park.  I cleaned before heading to bed myself.  #superexciting #notreally I know I’m not THAT old–but I felt it!  I was exhausted by 9pm lol  Of course, then the kids were wired and totally awake, hanging out watching their tablets together <3 <3  When we finally called it quits (and after a wonderful chat with my dearest hubby) I fell SOUND asleep.  Waking up this morning, I think I’ve figured out why: allergies.Read More →

Summer Body Boot Camp starts April 23! Seriously–it’s not too late! This new program I’ve been doing the last 5 weeks has been AWESOME.  I’ve lost 4 inches overall, 2 from my waist.  But some of my colleagues’ clients have had CRAZY results in the first 2 months.  Like, INSANE.  And that’s why I gave in to my FOMO and jumped on this program. SO GLAD I DID! I lost 4 inches overall, 1 of those around my waist.  In 4 weeks!  Not to mention the Strength Victories:  I can do a full side plank again;  those dumb renegade rows with a twist I canRead More →

Fitness is a journey.  Most journeys–especially in great literature–teach the person on that journey a lesson or two.  Now, I’m most certainly not comparing myself to any great literary character, but ALL OF US are on a journey and learning along the way. What I’ve learned so far could be said more like “What I’ve Learned (Again) So Far.” I’ve learned (again) so far that Practice makes Perfect, and that Progress IS Perfection.  When we start something new, or different, we AREN’T going to be perfect at it.  Especially right away.  Even when we start something again, it’s going to take us a while toRead More →

Yep.  I lost my battle with FOMO. I also happened to lost my battle with my “Everybody’s doing it, so I’m NOT going to do it” high school self.  Yep.  If it was popular, I didn’t like it.  Pop music.  Fashion trends.  Stuff like that. I try really hard to not be like that–to enjoy something for its value, not just because it’s popular. But sometimes old habits are hard to break.  Like, ALL old habits are hard to break.  In fact, they’re a bitch to break.  But it’s good to break the old bitches Do you ever “watch and see?”  By that, I mean doRead More →

We *finally* have snow! It’s a sexy snow day!  Only a few inches, but more than a dusting. It finally feels like winter, and I’m super happy!! I need to get out and make a snow angel, and a snowman. Would you like pics? Comment “YES!” and I’ll post my snow angel! But let’s admit it, winter is not a sexy season, am I right? Bulky coats, heavy sweaters, comfy pajamas do a fantastic job hiding our winter fluff. And it’s easy to get fluffy–easier to stay warm in bed instead of getting to the gym (or home gym). Warm winter comfort foods aren’t exactlyRead More →

Happy New Year! It’s been quite a while since I’ve blogged–I know, I know. Life has a way of getting in the way, and I let myself get carried away with it. Not anymore. I’m taking charge in 2018. I’m doing things my way, I’m making my life what I want it to be for me and my family. It’s the year that I’m finally going to achieve my goal of adding at least 10 pounds of muscle to my own body. I’ve talked about it long enough: 2018 is the year of action.  I will be following pre-designed programs–with guaranteed, proven results–to get meRead More →

If you follow my Instagram (and you should!) you’ll see that I’m halfway through month 1 of Insanity Max 30.  I LOVE this program!  My max out times aren’t increasing, but the intensity at which I’m doing the moves has definitely increased.  That’s gains right there!  It would be very reasonable to do multiple rounds of this program, with form and time improving each round. I am feeling AWESOME on this program.  The physical gains–from my form improvements to the fat loss–are great, but I’m super proud of myself for making the schedule work for me.  It’s set for 5 days a week, and while MondayRead More →

Are you ready for a hard truth? If you’re not a Prime member, you’re missing out.  Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial.  Seriously.  Free 2 day shipping is totally worth it, just for that.  Not to mention all the extras, like Amazon Video (have a smart tv?), Music, Subscribe & Save.  Subscribe & Save.  Subscribe & SAVE.  For things you use ALL THE TIME.  Like diapers and cat food.  Yes, I buy my baby’s diapers via Amazon, and my cats’ food, too.  Heck, if it wasn’t for Costco, I would even buy litter on Amazon too. I’m pretty sure my FedEx driver hates delivering myRead More →

The 2017 Madison Her Half Marathon was awesome.  It was a great experience, and one made better by the entire weekend, as well as my wonderful family.  It was a weekend of emotions, a weekend of finding strength, and the culmination of 6 months of training.  It was awesome. The course was well supported, with aid stations and portapotties every 1.5 miles.  This was key, as I always have to pee around 5-6 miles.  Every.  Damn.  Time. So starting off, I felt good.  My knees felt a little stiff, even after warming up, but I wasn’t concerned.  Perhaps I should have stretched/warmed up a littleRead More →

I’m so glad you’ve found me! Dream Life Fitness has undergone several changes in the last year!  I had put my business on hold while I was pregnant with my son–and had been on activity restriction and bed rest with him.  Then, a few weeks before I delivered, we applied for and got a transfer position for my husband’s job, which was such a good move!  So we moved states, 2 months after I gave birth.  Now, just over a year later, I’m way more than ready to get back into business! Some of my previous content is gone–a result of switching website hosts.  IRead More →
