Hey Madison, WI readers!

Madison has been a great city for us.  There’s so much to do, and I’ve found a really awesome running community–even though I haven’t gotten to run as much as I would like to!

That being said, I want to share something with you all!

Saturday July 7 is the Fitchburg Festival of Speed!  There’s a 5K, a 25-mile bike ride, 1 mile run, Kids Fun Run, and free concert too!  VIP access includes unlimited food and drink (including alcohol!)  Click here to save 40% on your registration (including 40% off VIP)!

I am SUPER excited to be a part of this!  My daughter is always asking to run with me–always running her “marathon” around the house.  She picked this up when I was training for the half marathon I ran last summer.  I love that she loves to run–we need to start running together more, and this is a GREAT chance for us to do so!  We are going to start doing mile runs together for the couple weeks left leading up to the FFOS.  I signed us up today: 5K for me and the Kids run for her!  We are SUPER excited!

Starting activities young helps get our kids into healthy habits.  We dance, do yoga, and she even hops in and out of my home workouts with me.  Healthy habits start young, and are something our kids will take with them their entire lives.  I remember doing Sun Salutations with my dad when I was my daughter’s age.  It makes me smile, and I love doing them with her now.  When my little boy breaks out his Down Dog, I smile.  I know they’re both watching me and learning.  I want to be a good, healthy role model for them.  It’s not easy all the time.  But it is worth it.
