As many of you know, I LOVE my superfood shake, Shakeology. It’s helped me get through morning fogs, it’s a quick and easy snack on the go. Did I mention that it’s loaded with superfoods?
I love that quality goes into the formulation of Shakeology, and it is constantly being tweaked for more nutrition and sustainable sourcing.
One of the newest superfoods added to Shakeology is matcha. Matcha is powdered green tea, and is jam-packed with anti-inflammatory antioxidants, and over 100 times more EGCG than in regular green tea (what is EGCG?) Matcha is great at boosting energy and metabolism–which is such a help for me, being a mom of 2 young children. Matcha has a distinct flavor too–if you were to get a matcha smoothie or matcha latte from a juice bar or smoothie shop you definitely would taste it. I can assure you that you don’t taste it in Shakeology–just the flavor like chocolate or cafe latte!
Here’s a great, green, matcha latte smoothie recipe!
Matcha Latte Shakeology
Total Time: 10 min.
Prep Time: 10 min.
Cooking Time: None
Yield: 1 smoothie
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup ice
1 scoop Vanilla Vegan Shakeology
1 tsp. unsweetened matcha powder
1. Place almond milk, ice, Shakeology, and matcha powder in blender; cover. Blend until smooth.
Tip: Make sure the matcha powder you use is unsweetened and does not contain other additives.
